Cei care ezit\u0103 hamletian, se chestioneaz\u0103 filozofic la nesf\u00e2r\u0219it, pe ei \u0219i lumea din jur, sf\u00e2r\u0219ind, inevitabil, \u00eentr-o alt\u0103 categorie, cea a neferici\u021bilor sau a celor ce pierd. \u00cent\u00e2mpl\u0103tor sau nu (sau poate pur \u0219i simplu pentru c\u0103 personajul feminin \u00een literatura rom\u00e2n\u0103 cap\u0103t\u0103 rareori amploarea necesar\u0103 unor asemenea zbateri l\u0103untrice, iar dac\u0103 ele exist\u0103, nu sunt luate \u00een serios, ci expediate ca \u201esim\u021biri\u201d, \u201eemo\u021bii\u201d, \u201esensibilit\u0103\u021bi\u201d), personajele acestea sunt masculine, \u0219i m\u0103 g\u00e2ndesc acum la doi tineri care sunt contemporani, desp\u0103r\u021bi\u021bi de numai c\u00e2\u021biva ani, afla\u021bi \u00een plin proces de maturizare intelectual\u0103, c\u0103ci de cea emo\u021bional\u0103 mai pu\u021bin poate fi vorba: Felix Sima (G. C\u0103linescu, <em>Enigma Otiliei)<\/em> \u0219i \u0218tefan Gheorghidiu (Camil Petrescu, <em>Ultima noapte de dragoste, \u00eent\u00e2ia noapte de r\u0103zboi<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eNobilul\u201d Felix \u2013 care nu se poate hot\u0103r\u00ee s\u0103-\u0219i pericliteze promi\u021b\u0103toarea carier\u0103 \u00een medicin\u0103 pentru dragostea frivolei Otilii, asupra c\u0103reia planeaz\u0103 mereu incertitudinea moral\u0103 \u2013 e de fapt incapabil s\u0103 fac\u0103 o alegere sau s\u0103-\u0219i impun\u0103 punctul de vedere. Pe de alt\u0103 parte, \u0218tefan Gheorghidiu, hamletian, contorsionat, autocentrat, tr\u0103ie\u0219te dramatic iubirea pentru o t\u00e2n\u0103r\u0103 femeie acuzat\u0103 pe r\u00e2nd de promiscuitate moral\u0103, de vulgar\u0103 dorin\u021b\u0103 de \u00eenavu\u021bire, de parvenire social\u0103 etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen primul caz, pus\u0103 pe seama tinere\u021bii, a lipsei de experien\u021b\u0103, a absen\u021bei unei \u201eeduca\u021bii sentimentale\u201d, inac\u021biunea lui Felix trece mai pu\u021bin observat\u0103. Incapacitatea lui decizional\u0103, concretizat\u0103 \u00een imaginea t\u00e2n\u0103rului necopt, nesigur, a orfanului hipersensibil devine cumva ata\u0219ant\u0103 \u0219i cititorul \u00eel \u201eiart\u0103\u201d, \u00eendrept\u00e2ndu-\u0219i acuzator ar\u0103t\u0103torul spre o Otilie ambigu\u0103 \u00een comportament, dar cu evidente calit\u0103\u021bi morale: \u00ee\u0219i pericliteaz\u0103 siguran\u021ba financiar\u0103, nevr\u00e2nd s\u0103 tulbure delirul arghirofil al b\u0103tr\u00e2nului ei \u201etat\u0103 adoptiv\u201d (pe care, de altfel, \u00eel ocrote\u0219te aplan\u00e2nd toate conflictele familiale, indiferent de consecin\u021be), pareaz\u0103 (sau ignor\u0103) elegant acuzele mizerabile ale Aglaei, care merg p\u00e2n\u0103 la sugerarea unor leg\u0103turi incestuoase, pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 permanenta referire la Pascalopol ca la cel care o \u00eentre\u021bine pe Otilia, \u00eel respinge pe Felix pentru a nu-i pune \u00een primejdie viitorul profesional etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen cel de-al doilea, Gheorghidiu sf\u00e2r\u0219e\u0219te prin a fi autorul unei largi selec\u021bii de considera\u021bii misogine, multe bazate pe o presupus\u0103 culp\u0103 conjugal\u0103 (care se dovede\u0219te a fi, \u00een final, fals\u0103, c\u00e2nd b\u0103nuielile \u00eei sunt \u00een sf\u00e2r\u0219it infirmate de fapte concrete). Umilindu-se \u00een fa\u021ba \u00eentregii lumi \u2013 propria so\u021bie, camarazii de arme \u0219i superiorii din ierarhia militar\u0103, colegi \u0219i prieteni \u2013, Gheorghidiu este autorul propriei suferin\u021be, alimentate continuu de o percep\u021bie hipertrofiat\u0103 a \u00eent\u00e2mpl\u0103rilor din jur, cum singur afirm\u0103 c\u0103 posed\u0103. El este cel care \u00ee\u0219i hr\u0103ne\u0219te \u0219i perpetueaz\u0103 nefericirea, augment\u00e2nd-o, oscil\u00e2nd \u00een permanen\u021b\u0103, motiva\u021bia sa r\u0103m\u00e2n\u00e2nd neclar\u0103 p\u00e2n\u0103 la final.
