Dramaturgul a avut astfel ocazia de a-l omagia pe marele s\u0103u predecesor, aduc\u00e2nd \u00een fa\u021ba publicului celebrul personaj absent al literaturii absurdului, \u201eC\u00e2nt\u0103rea\u0163a cheal\u0103\u201d.&nbsp;Eroul piesei, poetul Sergiu Penegaru \u00eencearc\u0103 s\u0103-\u015fi p\u0103streze valorile literare. El scrie \u0219i traduce \u00een plin\u0103 dictatur\u0103 comunist\u0103, av\u00e2nd privilegiul c\u00e2torva conversa\u021bii cu eroina lui Ionesco. Cei doi discut\u0103 \u2013 \u00een libertate, dar mai ales \u00een \u00eenchisoarea unde ajunge s\u0103 fie \u00eencarcerat eroul \u2013 despre literatur\u0103, despre farmecul Micului Paris, l\u0103s\u00e2nd impresia unei perechi aflate la prima \u00eent\u00e2lnire. La urm\u0103toarele \u00eentrevederi, gesturile ei devin mai intime, iar \u00een cele din urm\u0103 nu-\u0219i mai poate st\u0103p\u00e2ni lacrimile v\u0103z\u00e2nd c\u00e2t de des este pomenit\u0103 ea, \u201eun personaj care nici m\u0103car nu exist\u0103&#8221;. Ideea evoc\u0103rii acestui personaj i-a fost dat\u0103 scriitorului de o amintire a eseistului \u015fi istoricului literar Nicolae Balot\u0103, care a relatat cum \u00een anii &#8217;50, pe c\u00e2nd se afla la Jilava \u00eempreun\u0103 cu Constantin Noica, a r\u00e2s cu mare poft\u0103 c\u00e2nd Nicolae Steinhardt, aflat \u00een aceea\u0219i celul\u0103, le-a povestit piesa absurd\u0103 a lui Ionescu.
